I-35 from RM 1431 to FM 3406 (northbound)

The project includes relocating an exit ramp on the northbound I-35 frontage road and adding an extended exit lane between RM 1431 and FM 3406

Improvements include relocating the exit ramp on the northbound I-35 frontage road to reduce vehicle congestion on I-35 mainlanes and improve the northbound frontage road by adding an extended exit lane between RM 1431 and FM 3406.

Set Up Work Zone

Construct New Exit Ramp and Extended Exit Lane

  • Construct new northbound I-35 exit ramp between RM 1431 and FM 3406
  • Construct the new extended exit lane on the northbound I-35 frontage road between RM 1431 and FM 3406

Close the Old Exit Ramp

  • Close the old northbound I-35 exit ramp between RM 1431 and FM 3406 and open the new exit ramp to traffic

Convert frontage road from 2 to 3 lanes

  • Build out the left-hand side of the frontage road
  • Build out the right-hand side of the frontage road
  • Restripe frontage road to convert from 2 to 3 lanes

Finalize Project

  • Road sign installation 
  • Final paving operations
  • Final Striping
