I-35 at Ronald Reagan Boulevard

This project includes replacing the existing two-way bridge at Ronald Reagan Boulevard with two separate one-way bridges

The existing Ronald Reagan Boulevard (Theon Road) bridge will be replaced with new eastbound and westbound bridges. In addition, the project includes realigning Ronald Reagan Boulevard and tying in CR 311 to connect to the newly constructed bridges. Both bridges will accommodate one travel lane, bike lane, and six-foot sidewalk.

    Northbound I-35 right lane closed at Ronald Reagan Boulevard

    Sunday, June 16 through Monday, June 17 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

  • Lane Closure

    Southbound I-35 right lane closed at the Ronald Reagan bridge

    Monday, June 17 through Tuesday, June 18 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Funding

  • Construction cost: $13.6 million funded by CAMPO and TxDOT 

Schedule

  • Construction start: June 2019

  • Anticipated construction completion: mid-2021, weather permitting

Set Up Work Zone

Open New Eastbound Ronald Reagan Boulevard Bridge

  • Construct new eastbound Ronald Reagan Bridge
  • Complete striping, bike lane and six-foot sidewalk
  • Open bridge to the traveling public

Open Westbound Ronald Reagan Bridge

  • Construct new westbound Ronald Reagan Bridge
  • Complete striping, bike lane and six-foot sidewalk
  • Open bridge to the traveling public

Demolish Old Ronald Reagan Bridge

  • Close old Ronald Reagan bridge to traffic
  • Demolish old bridge while new bridges are open to traffic
  • Clean up work zone and finalize project
